Our range of leadership programmes are designed with you in mind.  Before every programme we wil meet with you and bespoke training to reflect your organisatins values and ethos.  We want to help you develop your people into exceptional leaders and execptional people.

These one day programs are designed for anyone in your organisation and give the learner the opportunity to gain an understanding of ethical leadership in general and how it pertains to your organisation in particular.

All programmes are prepared in consultation with you, this allows your organisations strategy, practices and policy to inform the day. 

These programmes have been delivered both nationally and internationally and challenge delegates to

  • Critique their approach to decision making

All sessions are interactive and help participants challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.

This is a programme for anyone who wants to improve their leadership and develop a network with other on the same journey.

Over five days we will enjoy morning sessions with leaders from the public and private sector who will give masterclasses which will include

We will spend the second half of the day considering how to apply this learning to our own leadership and organisation.

This is an in-person programme and which will take place in a centra Edinburgh location and will include lunch.

new leaders programme

First line leaders are key to the success of any organisation.  It is usually true to say that these leaders set the direction for the majority of our staff.  It is important, then that they are properly prepared to deliver in this role with confidence and clarity. 

This one day programmes covers four main themes

  • Communication
  • Leadership styles
  • Managing courageous conversations
  • Decision making

Underpinning all aspects of this programme will be the importance of ethical leadership.  This will ensure  that as your leaders develop they will do so in a way that reflects the values of your organisation.

A typical programme generally includes the following

9:15 – 9:30  Registration

9:30 – 9:45  Welcome from your senior leadership team.

 This programme underpins your investment in your people.  We like to offer a few moments at the start of the day for a member of your senior leadership team to meet with delegates and set out what you would like them to achieve within the programme.

9:45 – 10:00 Welcome from your trainer and introduction of learning objectives.

10:00 – 11:00  Leadership I

  • Discuss and describe qualities of a leader.
  • Explanation of a number of different leadership styles which we will discuss and apply to our current roles.

11:00 – 11:15  Morning Break

11:15 – 12:00  Leadership II

  • Consider and discuss leadership styles most appropriate to various situations.
  • Reflect upon, identify and discuss our personal leadership skills.

12:00 – 1300 Communication I

  • We will discuss listening and communication concepts.
  • Learn and practice feedback methods.

13:00 – 13:45  Lunch

13:45 – 14:30  Communication II

  • Introduction to courageous conversations in the workplace.
  • Practicing preparing for and leading a courageous conversation.

14:30 – 15:00  Decision Making I

  • Learn about different decision making models
  • Discuss how various models might be applied in different scenarios.

15:00 – 15:15  Afternoon Break

15:15 – 16:15  Decision Making II

  • Explain and discuss the importance of stakeholders.
  • Undertake a board blasting session.
  • Develop a SWOT analysis relating to a current problem.

16:15 – 16:30  Discussion, Feedback and Evaluation

We would be delighted to meet with you and work out what you and your people need from an established leaders programme; we will then bespoke a unique programme to meet your needs.  Programmes can be single day deliveries spread over several weeks or months or a defined course of several days duration.

Most organisations have a policy which underpins delivery and relationships.  It is important that policy lands successfully when the rubber hits the road.  We offer a number of courses based on a range of broad themes including

We would be happy to meet with you, gain an understanding of your policies and your aspirations for their delivery.  We will then prepare a range of one day programs for delivery across your organisation.  These programmes are designed to ensure that when your policies are shared across your organisation they are actioned as you’d like them to be an that when the rubber hits the road, you are confident that these vital issues are properly understood.

critical incident leadership and recovery

Covid-19 has challenged us all.  How we have managed our Business Continuity Plans and, just as importantly, supported our people has defined our leadership and the reputation of our organisations.

It is important to remain ready for criticality. 

This one day programme will support delegates to

  • Define what a critical or major incident is for your organisation
  • Set strategies to manage business
  • Consider optimal ways of communicating with staff
  • Best manage relationships with customer and communities during crisis
  • Understand when crisis has ended
  • How best to emerge into the new normal

This programmes is scenario based and delivered over a single day.  There is an opportunity to include a presentation from an experienced journalist around media management if this is applicable.

recruitment & selection

Getting the right people into your organisation or department is essential to your successes.  This two day programme supports both interviewers and prospective candidates. 

By focusing on values and reflecting recruitment around who your organisation is  this programme aims to help interviewers find the best fit for you and your people.

Interviewers are supported in

  • Developing an understanding of law pertaining to job interviews
  • The development of a job description
  • Undertaking an initial/paper sift
  • Setting and asking interview questions, including setting a presentation topic
  • Scoring an interview
  • Undertake feedback for successful and unsuccessful candidates
  • Practice interviews

Potential candidates will be guided through

  • Writing an application
  • Preparing for an interview, including giving a presentation 
  • Undertake a series of interviews
  • Receive feedback on performance

By the close of this programme, your interviewers will be confident in leading a transparent, behavioural interview process and candidates will know how to give their best in that process.
