Dr Richie Adams

Richie is passionate about supporting leaders develop to become truly ethical thinkers and effective decision makers.

With over 20 year’s experience of delivering leadership training to leaders at all levels, Richie is ideally placed to support all leaders develop, whether they be new leaders experiencing leadership for the first time, to experienced leaders seeking to develop their knowledge and keep current.

All Richie’s training is underpinned by his lived experience.  Richie was a senior leader with Police Scotland and the Director of Education within the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service.  Richie has experience of successfully leading teams though critical incidents including responses to Covid-19, terrorist attacks and city crippling fires. 

With a keen eye for detail and understanding of law, Richie has also led key strategic change within policing.  Most notably, he wrote and delivered  the Code of Ethics for Policing in Scotland.

Education has been a key component in Richie’s development.  Amongst a range of qualifications he holds a Doctorate, which focused on the development of ethical decision making tools for policing.

Richie’s leadership in the field of ethical decision making has been recognised internationally.  He has travelled to a number of nations including Sri Lanka, Malawi and the United States where he has taught ethical leadership to police services, NGOs and universities.

Richie has led firearms incidents, negotiated with hostage takers and led Police Scotland’s critical incident training programme for several years.  He is an accomplished decision maker, communicator and educator; skills he uses with great effect in his leadership training
